A community that knows your name
A welcoming circle of Christian writers you get to know personally—capped small on purpose.
A Documentary of Year One
Whether your goal is 50,000 words or 5,000, the goal isn't to write as many words as you can—it's to write faithfully for Jesus.
What is it?
Jesus Writing Month is a 30-day online event for Christian writers taking place November 1–30. Through an intimate online community, weekly live events, writing sprints, and encouragement from fellow believers, writers are challenged to surrender their stories to Christ and approach writing as an act of worship.
What you'll experience
At the heart of Jesus Writing Month is something increasingly rare online: real relationships. We keep it personal—capped at about 700 writers—so writers can truly know, encourage, and pray for one another.

A welcoming circle of Christian writers you get to know personally—capped small on purpose.

Weekly gatherings, writing sprints, and guest speakers that make the month feel alive.
People who check in, cheer you on, and lift you up when the writing gets hard.
A personal word-tracking tool and the freedom to set your own goal, from 5,000 to 50,000 words.
A whole month dedicated to surrendering your stories to Christ and writing for His glory.
Why is it different?
Everything about this challenge reflects that. We believe writing is more than a hobby or career path—it's a gift from God and an opportunity to glorify Him through faithful stewardship.
While most writing challenges focus solely on word counts, Jesus Writing Month focuses on something far deeper.
Freedom.
Comparison
No leaderboards, no envy. Your journey is your own, and that is enough.
Pressure
No impossible quotas. Faithful progress matters more than frantic output.
Write faithfully
Freedom to write the very story God has entrusted to you, for His glory.
That's why every writer sets their own goal. Because we believe every writer is on a different journey.
What happened last year?

A note from the founder
Justice Tilsher
Founder · Story Stewards
At the time, I was just a writer trying to help other writers and getting absolutely nowhere. I had launched courses, challenges, and projects that failed repeatedly. Then a question began to bother me: what if writing wasn't meant to be another source of pressure?
What if writers could approach creativity as worship instead of performance? So I spent six months building an event around that idea. I had no idea if anyone would show up… but by the time November arrived, more than 500 Christian writers had joined us.

And most importantly, hundreds walked away with a deeper love for Jesus. All glory belongs to Him.
Jesus Writing Month is completely free—accessible to every writer, regardless of finances.

In their words
This isn't just a group of Christian writers; it's the family of God, sharing each other's joy and sorrow, lifting each other up in prayer.
Jessie Walbrook

“I've never connected with so many people for the sake of God's glory.”
The bigger picture
Jesus Writing Month lives under Story Stewards—a community devoted to helping Christian writers steward their gift, grow in craft, and keep Christ at the center of everything they create. Most of what we build is offered completely free.
Our mission
That's it. Yes, we want writers to finish books. Yes, we want writers to build habits. Yes, we want writers to accomplish meaningful goals. But at the center of everything we do is Christ.
My greatest prayer is that one writer leaves this event loving Jesus more than they did when they entered it.
